Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes concludes with a message of hope and reconciliation for humans, while noting significant advancement in the ape's understanding of the world (Noa discovering the telescope) and a renewed perspective on Caesar's teachings​.

Its wall-to-wall CGI visuals are largely uninspired, a demoralizing comedown from the thrilling look of the last two Apes films. The characters are weak compared to Caesar, Koba, Maurice, and the other main apes of the franchise so far, which is partly why the narrative takes forever to get any real traction.

He saw space. He saw the stars and that experience was probably as life changing as it was for the first humans to see beyond earth with that kind of detail. For Noa, it was another example that the world he was told of is not the one that truly exists.

The ending is quite good. By introducing the concept of the human survivors, it makes for an interesting way to introduce a new trilogy. Kingdom isn't necessarily a bad film, but nowhere near as impressive as the complexity of Rise and Dawn, or even the original Planet of the Apes and Beneath the planet of the apes.
