This indictment was the result of a narcotics trafficking investigation involving forensics, technology, and old fashioned police work conducted by the Seattle Dark Web working group, consisting of the Postal Inspection Service, FBI, HSI, and DEA. King County SO broke the case open though when they responded and obtained a search warrant for the suspects’ RV after he was reportedly shot. Hard work and collaboration - that’s how crooks go to jail and drugs and guns are taken off our streets.https://lnkd.in/gfy5D2Rx

Wow! Terrific interagency cooperation and outstanding results, and not just for the communities of Western WA (given the I-90 adjacent location)!

The Posal Inspection Service will not tolerate individuals exploiting our nation’s mail system to ship illegal firearms. We appreciate our fantastic partnerships with the ATF, Twin Falls PD and the USAO District of Idaho in holding this defendant accountable.https://lnkd.in/gyhAis-z

The last three members of an eight defendant narcotics distribution ring were found guilty by a jury in Montana and now each face a mandatory minimum ten years to life in federal prison. Kudos to our local, state and federal partners for putting the case together and to the USAO-District of Montana for closing it out with an impactful and successful prosecution!https://lnkd.in/gkhXtdni

This defendant was recently sentenced to 121 months in federal prison for trafficking heroin and fentanyl through the US Mail. When he was arrested, he was on supervised release from a prior drug conviction for which he served nine years in prison. He has dozens of felony convictions over the past 30 years. Some people commit crime because they’re greedy, or desperate, or mentally ill. But a handful of people do it because they’re simply bad people.https://lnkd.in/g-iz_AnC

Seattle Division Postal Inspectors utilized a combination of old fashioned police work and innovative technological tools to identify and build a substantial case against this suspect. Although he tried to run, Inspectors caught him and recovered the ghost gun he tried to ditch during the pursuit. Solid work.https://lnkd.in/gk34ba8v

Kudos to the collaborative efforts of the Postal Inspection Service, DEA, FBI, IRS, AST, Anchorage PD, and the USAO-District of Alaska in this impactful investigation resulting in the indictments of more than 50 defendants. The ringleaders ran the operation from prisons in CA and AK, recruiting female inmates to receive meth, heroin and fentanyl shipped through the US Mail, and to distribute the dope throughout the state of Alaska. The organization was responsible for the kidnapping and execution of two victims, causing the overdose death of another, and the importation of the equivalent of more than one million fentanyl pills. I would tell the investigators to take a bow, but they’re already busy working on the next case to protect the men, women and children of Alaska from dangerous drugs. Job well done!https://lnkd.in/gCqGERS7

This defendant was a menace to the King County community - stealing several postal vehicles to offload and compromise trays of mail and postal keys to access neighborhood delivery collection box units in order to steal and victimize thousands of postal customers through various financial crimes. Kudos to the dogged determination of the men and women of the Postal Inspection Service and the USAO-WDWA in bringing this criminal to justice!https://lnkd.in/gVeAQcXn

One of the ringleaders of this organization was incarcerated in federal prison serving a 22 year sentence while she recruited fellow inmates to traffic fentanyl into Alaska upon their release. Some of these co-conspirators agreed to accept parcels containing fentanyl shipped via the US Mail which was subsequently distributed into communities located throughout the state. Postal Inspectors protect the American public and postal employees by collaborating with our partners to identify, investigate and arrest narcotics traffickers and by interdicting and removing dangerous drugs from the US Mail. Tremendous job by all of the agencies involved in this impactful investigation.https://lnkd.in/g6vgDfnu

The protection and safety of postal employees is the Inspection Service’s highest priority. I appreciate the diligence and hard work of our Portland Team, the collaboration with our law enforcement partners, and the fantastic support of the USAO-District of Oregon in bringing these violent criminals who endanger the hard working civil servants of the Postal Service to justice. Well done!https://lnkd.in/gWS2xQcx
